• Box.net is probably the most commonly-known site featured here. But I couldn’t keep it from the list because it’s really a good one and despite all its features, it’s actually simple to use. The light version is not so attractive though. Here’s what you get: File uploads up to 25MB/file
• Rapidshare is lacking in features & design, but if you’re looking for a one-click file host, you came to the right place. Founded in 2006, the service is the twelfth most visited homepage in the world. With Rapidshare, users can upload big files (200MB) in one step and subsequently make them available to friends and family via the download link

The idea is simple—you can use the dig command to look up DNS records, including text records attached to a DNS entry, and somebody created an interface that pulls back the Wikipedia summary for an article by querying the records from the command line.

To do this for yourself, use the following syntax from your shell prompt, replacing the keyword with the single word you are trying to look up. Because this uses the command-line dig tool, this should work natively on Linux, but Windows users need to have Cygwin installed.

dig +short txt .wp.dg.cx

Google Chrome is the official build and Chromium is the development branch of Chrome. Some of the commands below allow you to add Flash support for Chromium, not Chrome.

Install Chromium in Ubuntu

sudo su

Flash Support

Wow what a weekend, it has been in the android world.  On Friday night, Google decided to let loose some of the new features that they were planning for the next release of android onto developers. (Thanks to Android Phone Fans for breaking the news)

The main features listed were

• multitouch ( this has been denied by Google)

• CDMA support
• Search system wide
• WPA2 enterprise
• VPN support
• Updated camera
• Updated UI and animations
• Compatibility Mode
• Credential storage
• Accessibility option
• Speech synthesizer controls

Google have also said that the new release (Codename Donut) will not be Android 2.0 which indicates it is only a minor release.

Here’s a list of America’s 10 most wanted botnets, based on an estimate by security firm Damballa of botnet size and activity in the United States.

No. 1: Zeus

Compromised U.S. computers: 3.6 million

Main crime use: The Zeus Trojan uses key-logging techniques to steal sensitive data such as user names, passwords, account numbers and credit card numbers. It injects fake HTML forms into online banking login pages to steal user data.

Here is a really interesting post from Linux Planet, in regards to Why programmer code for Free? Instead of using a Shareware type of deal. Sometimes the benefits of open source outweight the benefit of a few dollars.

Many tens of thousands of words have been printed over the years in attempts to answer the question “Why would anyone want to code for free?” Sometimes it is phrased more bitingly, like “Richard Stallman thinks programmers should work for free and starve to death!” With rare exceptions, various pundits, analysts, and random passersby have tried to explain these issues without asking any actual developers, or having any coding experience themselves.
